As a first generation Brit, I vividly remember a younger me that left India with dreams in my eyes and hope in my stride. My love and passion for food landed me a lucrative career in the glitzy streets of Mayfair and its fine dining Restaurants. I grew more passionate about food, and somehow always found myself in the kitchen next to the chefs, curious, inquisitive and eager to imitate everything I learned in there, at home with friends and family.

My passion for food helped me setup The Glad - an institution in Borough and give the beloved Sunday Roast my own twist. Fortunate as I was part of The Glad, the little boy who always followed his mum in the kitchen was yearning for something that reminded him of his favourite street food from Delhi. The mouth-watering intricate flavours, that city has to offer can do a number on anyone.

Over the years I've realised the best way to get people together and make friends for life is through great food. It is with this spirit of collective nostalgia, one ingredient at a time that I present Boxwallah to you, with carefully curated dishes that I've enjoyed during my childhood years and through culinary school in Lucknow.

A long forgotten word of the Colonial period, ‘Boxwallah’ has appeared in Rudyard Kipling’s works and refers to Indian peddlers selling food & products in Delhi and Bombay streets to the memsahibs. And just like this, I bring to you mouth-watering Indian dishes that are reminiscent of the past...
